Welcome to Sprout Class: Reception, Year 1 & 2.

Mr. Batchelor is the class teacher for Sprout class.  He is supported by Mrs Wyatt, Mrs Blunn, Miss Sharp, Miss Gentle, Miss Murrey.

Sprout class is made up of Reception children, Year 1 and Year 2 children.  We are a class who are interested in finding out more about our world and use our interest in what is happening around us to develop our knowledge and understanding.  We love learning new skills and enjoying new experiences.  We use these to make connections between our learning.

What have we been doing recently?

In the Spring Term, Year 1 and 2 children have been learning about the coastline, with a focus on what you might find at the coast, human and physical features and some of the dangers of the sea and how we can be safe at the seaside. 

In art, children have been learning about flowers and making simple 3D representations of flowers. This half term in DT children will be learning about and designing beach huts. 

In Science Year 1s and 2s have been learning about plant parts and uses of everyday materials. 

The Reception children have been learning about some of the things that happened in the past, including how they have changed since they were babies, and how differnet things might have been like in the past. This half term children are learning about food and growing.
