School Council
Welcome to our school council page
Our school council is made up of two children per year group from years 1-6. We hold elections each year and classes vote for the class member to advocate and make contributions on their behalf.
The chosen school councillors for this year are:
Year 1: Rafe & Jackson
Year 2: Thomas & Dotty
Year 3: Riley & Eira
Year 4: Riley & Leilani
Year 5: Mae & Elijah
Year 6: Max & Thomas
The role of our school councillors are:
To meet on a regular basis with Mrs Blunn and make important decisions about our school.
The main aims of the school council:
The school council plays an important role in helping its members develop valuable skills in speaking and listening, teamwork, decision making and problem solving. It’s also successful in helping children to build relationships with adults, peers and the wider community.

Mrs Hall addressed the children and some of the suggestions for this years charity were:
Children’s cancer research
Child line
Bernardo’s
The Ark
All 12 children voted and the most votes went to Children’s cancer charity. We then discussed fundraising ideas, the children’s suggestions were:
Christmas decorations sale
Football competition
Long distance run on the field
Sponsored silence
Obstacle course
Non uniform day
Cake sale
Parade
Book sale
Mrs Hall agreed these were all fantastic suggestions and we would pick specific ideas at the next meeting.

Meeting notes:
Mrs Hall welcomed the new school councillors for this academic year and gave them a brief introduction about being a school councillor.
First, Mrs Hall addressed the children about this year’s chosen charity and it was decided we would look at a children’s charity.
Mrs Hall asked them to go back to their classes and chat to peers and come up with suggestions to bring forward to the next meeting.
Mrs Hall also asked the children to start thinking about fundraising and what we could do as a school.
