Headteachers Message
Welcome to Hinton St George Church of England Primary School. We are a dynamic, progressive Church of England Primary School located in the beautiful village of Hinton St George. The school currently caters for children aged between 4 and 11 years old and serves a community of families covering the rural parishes of Hinton St George, Dinnington and Lopen.
The school enjoys a rural setting with all of our classes based in the original, renovated Victorian school building. The grounds to the rear of the school include a well-stocked and fun playground along with a creative outdoor learning space for our early year’s provision. We have a large school playing field with play equipment, a stage and an area for forest school activities.
We have dedicated staff and governors who provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment in which each child feels secure and valued as an individual. We are fortunate to enjoy a high staff to pupil ratio where teaching and non-teaching staff all work together to provide an exciting education in safe and pleasant surroundings. All of our children are actively encouraged to realise their full potential and to fulfil our school motto to be “the best that we can be”. We also have close links and work collaboratively with other local schools.
Achievement at all levels throughout the curriculum is valued and recognised; good behaviour, aspiration, high standards and a sense of personal and social responsibility are clearly promoted and expected. We enjoy strong links with our local community and endeavour to work closely with our parents. This is demonstrated by our active and generous PFA, who tirelessly raise funds to improve our school and provide exciting opportunities for our children.
We hope to provide as much information as possible on our website, but if you have any other questions or would like to arrange a visit, please contact Mrs Sharon Mountain or Mrs Sam Hughes-Williams in the school office by telephone on 01460 72653 or by email at [email protected]. We look forward to showing you our school.
