The Parents & Friends Association (PFA) is a registered charity responsible for raising money for the school children.  All parents automatically become members of the Association when their child/children join the school. All funds raised are spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance the children’s education and the facilities in school.

Funds are raised in a number of ways, but we try to ensure that they are generally events which are fun for both parents and children alike. To name but a few, we have had Quiz Nights, Christmas Fairs, and also our annual ‘Slay the Dragon’ 10km cross country race and a shorter fun run!

The PFA Committee meet to discuss and plan future events. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to help the school, so would be delighted if any new parents who may have fund raising ideas or just want to help, could join us at our open meetings. These meetings are normally held at Hinton St George Primary School once every half term on a weekday evening.

The Committee members are always available to answer any queries you may have and we look forward to meeting you.

A Message from Hinton St George PFA

The PFA have been busy putting their heads together for events to raise money in 2022 whilst also hopefully getting back the social aspect of the PFA after two years of Covid restrictions. Here is a list of save the dates for 2022. There is a possibility of more events being announced through the year as well, but these are the main events. Please put them in your diary and try and support in any way you can; it has been really fun getting to know new parents and re-connecting with the old parents.

• Nathans Infamous quiz and Pudding auction 7pm 4th February 2022 *awesome fun event
• Slay the Dragon morning of the 13th March 2022 * need lots of help for marshals as this is a huge running event and one of our biggest money spinners. 🙂
• Easter Bingo… if someone would like to come forward to take the lead on this it is a fun event for all the family.
• Woodlands weekend camping away for all the family and friends welcome to also join. 20th 21st and 22nd May 2022.
• Hinton Big Day Out – beginning of July, haven’t committed to date or running this yet… trying to see what interest we have 1st.

The school have really benefited from all of our fundraising efforts this year from contributing to the Pre School building appeal to new reading resources and computer program resources for the children to use. 2022 is going to be about bringing the community together to enjoy the fun social side of having a child at Hinton St George School.
