Recycling Workshop
Date: 23rd Nov 2024 @ 9:39am
We were so pleased to meet Gary from Carymoor Environmental Trust this week (22nd November 2024).
Year 3 and 4 children learnt all about recycling and caring for our world, with help from Gary and his companion, Burpy the Food Bin. We found that Burpy loved to eat some items, like apple cores, used teabags and even mouldy cheese! However, Burpy did not enjoy eating plastic containers or jars. We discovered how to recycle these objects at home.
We enjoyed creating and naming our own food waste mascots!
Children discussed how they could make a change for the future with their habits as consumers and with their powerful voices. Gary was thrilled to read a fantastic piece of environmental poetry, written and illustrated by two thoughtful members of Sapling Class!
