Fresh Food, Good Food

Last half-term we found out all about healthy snacks and how to keep them fresh through preservation methods such as dehydration, canning and pasteurisation. We made some fantastic healthy snacks and learnt a lot about cooking and preparing food.
Next, Children worked in groups to plan their own snack. They wrote shopping lists for the ingredients and resources needed, then followed recipes and created some delicious dishes:
Group 1: Overnight oats
Group 2: Baked fruit
Group 3: Fruit salad
Group 4: Fruit tortilla and yogurt pizzas
Finally, they designed packaging, posters and advertisements for their creations. One group even wrote a catchy jingle!
